Shatterpoint Saga

Legal

This page is incomplete. Shatterpoint Saga is an invite-only closed playtest and is not open for public registration.

1. Who operates this service

This service is operated by Pierce Barber, an individual based in North Carolina, United States.

Contact: [email protected]. Correspondence is by email only; there is no postal address for this service.

2. What this is

A persistent turn-based settlement game. You hold one settlement, submit orders for it, and read the outcome after each turn resolves. Access is by single-use invite issued by the operator.

There is no chat, no direct messaging, and no profile, avatar, or free-text field that other players can see. The only thing another player can observe about your settlement is an unnamed marker and a coarse size band — never its name, its exact state, or that it is yours.

3. Acceptable use

While taking part in the closed playtest, please do not:

  • share, resell, or publish your invite — invites are single-use and tied to you;
  • attempt to read, modify, or interfere with another player's settlement, or with the service itself, including by automated means;
  • attempt to extract another player's identity or settlement detail from what the shared view exposes;
  • submit content you would not want recorded, since turns are kept as a record.

The operator may end your access to the playtest at any time. Because the test is closed and small, this is expected to be a conversation rather than a process.

4. Reporting a problem

To report a bug, a security issue, or another player's conduct, email the address in section 1.

Reports are read by Pierce Barber, who operates this service alone. During the closed playtest, expect a reply within a few days rather than the same day.

5. Your data

The service stores the account you create when redeeming an invite, the state of your settlement, and a session cookie while you are signed in. It is served from a single origin and sets no third-party cookies.

Your data is kept while the closed playtest is running, and is deleted within 30 days of the playtest ending. You can ask for a copy of your data, or for it to be deleted sooner, by emailing the address in section 1. Requests are honoured within 30 days.

6. Regulatory status

The operator has not yet completed a regulatory assessment for this service. That assessment is in progress and this page will be updated when it concludes. Nothing on this page should be read as a statement that any particular regime does or does not apply.

Closed playtest. One origin. Session cookie TBD (Phase 4).
